How strange it must feel to be 89-years-old with a heart pumping inside you that’s as timeworn as your face, its deep wrinkles and age spots surrounding beautiful brown eyes that, admirably, are the only organs that haven’t seemed to age. I bet it remembers how it was once powered by the energy and zest of a nationally acclaimed university band, but nowadays relies on the motivation of a single skilled drummer boy wearing the colors of Christmas and the scent of apple pie.
